UNCORK FOR HOPE RAISES $160,000 TO SUPPORT AT-RISK YOUTH

IRVINE, Calif. – MAY 15, 2018 –The Uncork for Hope Foundation hosted their signature event “Uncork for Hope” on Sunday, May 6, 2018. The event, now a 6-year tradition, is a major annual fund-raising event that supports the Foundation’s mission to empower at-risk youth through community partnerships.

The event was held at the Center Club Orange County in Costa Mesa, CA and drew an elite reception of Orange County business leaders and philanthropists who are passionate about supporting at-risk children of Southern California.  The event featured wine tastings sponsored by 21 prominent winemakers in California, hors d’oeuvres by Chef Lewis Butler, and live music by jazz pianist Lee Rugless. Guests had an opportunity to participate in both silent and live auctions which raised nearly $160,000 to support at-risk youth and families in California.

“This event is special to me and close to my heart,” said Adam Miller. “A group of my friends sat around one day and we said, ‘why not throw a wine tasting to benefit charity?’ A group of us were involved with local charities and had great friends in the wine industry and the marriage just came together perfectly. We’ve created a lot of relationships, and have raised a lot of money to help at-risk youth in California. Very few things bring people together like wine does.”

Uncork for Hope will continue to be a catalyst to build synergies between organizations to go beyond what they would do alone.  The Foundation hosts their Signature Event “Uncork for Hope” annually in Spring, “Uncork for a Cause” annually in Fall, and winemaker dinners throughout the year.  Each event draws guests to enjoy wine tasting from prominent California winemakers, fine food, and silent/live auctions.  For additional information, please visit uncorkforhope.org.
