UNCORK FOR HOPE FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT TO JOYFUL CHILD FOUNDATION

IRVINE, Calif. – MAY 7, 2018 – The Uncork for Hope Foundation hosted their signature event “Uncork for Hope” on Sunday at the Center Club Orange County. The event, now a 6-year tradition, is a major annual fund-raising event that supports the Foundation’s mission to empower at-risk youth through community partnerships.

Co-Founder and COO, Adam Miller, announced that the Uncork for Hope Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to The Joyful Child Foundation.  The foundation was selected through a rigorous application and interview process conducted by members of the Uncork for Hope Board of Directors Jody Ward, Bob Hartmann, and Leslie Richard, as well as Co-Founder Christina Garkovich. The Joyful Child has provided abuse and abduction prevention education to tens of thousands of children in southern California.  The grant will fund the implementation of the foundation’s BRAVE Initiative to provide a viable model for safety education to additional schools and at-risk-youth programs in southern California.

Erin Runnion, Founder of The Joyful Child Foundation said,

“It is an honor for The Joyful Child to partner with the Uncork for Hope Foundation to significantly increase our ability to empower our most vulnerable children and families to be brave and safe.  We are delighted to participate in this wonderful event.  Together, we can create safer communities for our children.”

The 6th annual Uncork for Hope event featured wine tastings sponsored by over 21 prominent winemakers in California, hors d’oeuvres by Chef Lewis Butler, and live music by jazz pianist Lee Rugless. Guests had an opportunity to participate in both silent and live auctions which raised nearly $160,000 to support at-risk youth and families in California.

About The Uncork for Hope Foundation
The Uncork for Hope Foundation’s mission is to empower at-risk youth through community partnerships.  We accomplish this mission by being the catalyst in building synergies between organizations to go beyond what they would do alone.  Through events, the wine community, and other collaborative partners we hope to strengthen charities by creating a greater awareness of their needs and funding programs that positively impact the lives of California’s most vulnerable children.
